The staff was the high point! Very nice and helpful, all of them! The room was very clean in general, there were some breakfast items, coffee and tea, towels (changed every day if you need), shower gel, water in the shower was hot and good pressure, wifi worked perfectly. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel and a metro station 20 minutes away. There is a small and fun local pub, with nice beer and music, a place where the locals like to hangout, we could not hear the music from our room (ground floor!). If you are looking for a low budget in London, here is a very nice and pleasant place to stay! Some comments mention that the area is a bit scary, indeed it's not the nicest looking side of London, but me and my partner walked a lot by the neighborhood and NEVER had any problem or felt insecure. People were very polite or just minded their business. Honestly, we would go back :)

Quirky pub/hotel in a residential area. The rooms were basic but good, with a sink, a small fridge, kettle etc and a TV. The shared bathrooms sufficed well enough, always had hit water for showers. There was a communal kitchen with oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer, as well as a table you could easily sit 4 people at. No time restrictions on coming and going, with a separate key for the building and one for the room. I always sleep with earplugs as I'm a light sleeper and I slept well, as even though it is above a pub, the area was fairly quiet at night time. Best thing is the location, only a short bus ride from the centre of London and all the other connections you need. If I come to London again any time soon, I will be using the Hour Glass hotel again. The staff were very welcoming, well spoken and pleasant as well.

The room my partner and I stayed in was small (but spacious enough for the large amount of luggage and stuff we had with us! also absolutely comfortable), the bed was comfy and the staff is absolutely nice and incredible. We booked a double with shared bathrooms and the bathrooms were both clean and there were a lot of them too! The shared kitchen was equipped with everything one might need and it also had washing machines we could use. Also, even though there is a pub downstairs, none of the noise could be heard from the rooms. It's really nice and quiet. Also its located in a nice quiet area, pretty close to the city centre and main attractions. It also has a bus stop right across the street and the elephant & castle underground close by! I absolutely would recommend staying here and will return in the future :)

Aged section of London(in a local living area). Corner room, cozy, with lots of windows. Gives a real London experience. There's a pub attached on the ground floor that was full of locals that welcomed us in. It supplied a perfect end to each day of sightseeing. Vasu (the manager) was 100%interested in our comfort and happiness while staying there. There is a house kitchen with all the tools one may need to cook a meal and a small laundry facility on site as well. It's located close to bus stops. We felt comfortable and safe there. NOT fancy, clean, comfortable, accommodating. We would absolutely visit this site again and again. Thanks guys!

I wasn’t sure about the area initially, as it’s not somewhere I would normally stay, but my experience at the Hourglass Hotel quickly put me at ease. I was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who made me feel incredibly welcome. They showed me to my room, which was upstairs & carried my bags. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and secure throughout my stay, which is so important. The room was clean, and warm. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a friendly and safe place to stay.
